Terms of Service
BayLogic is software for automotive technicians and repair shops. It keeps a logbook of the jobs you work, produces the write-up your repair order needs, tracks your hours, and can show the shop floor’s status on a screen. These terms are the agreement between you and Christian Mrozek (“we”) for using it.
If you do not agree with them, do not use the service. If you are using BayLogic on behalf of a shop, you are confirming you are allowed to agree on its behalf.
1. Your account
You need an account, and you are responsible for what happens under it. Keep your password to yourself and tell us if you think somebody else has it. An email address belongs to one shop; a technician working at two shops needs two addresses.
You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live, and you must not use BayLogic if we have previously closed your account.
2. Your data belongs to you
The jobs, notes, hours and photographs you put into BayLogic are yours. We do not sell them, we do not rent them, and we do not use them to advertise to you. You can export everything in your logbook at any time, in a format you can read without us.
We access your data only to run the service, to fix something that is broken, or where we are legally required to.
3. Information about other people
A logbook entry often contains details about somebody else — a customer’s name, a vehicle identification number, a complaint they made. When you enter that, you are confirming you are entitled to, and that you are handling it in line with whatever obligations you or your shop already have.
We handle that information on your behalf and do nothing else with it. Section 6 covers what happens if you choose to publish a case.
4. Write-ups are drafts, and you are responsible for them
BayLogic produces write-ups from what you type, and part of that is generated by an AI model. A write-up is a draft. You are the technician; what goes on the repair order is your statement, not ours.
Read it before you use it. The software is built not to invent work you did not enter, and not to claim a repair was verified when you have not said so — but it can still be wrong, and a repair order is a document your shop keeps and a customer may later rely on.
BayLogic does not diagnose vehicles, does not tell you what to repair, and is not a substitute for your own judgement, the manufacturer’s procedures, or your training. Nothing in another technician’s published case is advice; it is a record of what somebody else found on a different car.
5. What you may not do
- Use BayLogic to break the law, or to store anything you have no right to store.
- Try to reach another shop’s data, or probe the service for ways to.
- Resell access, or share one account among people who should have their own.
- Upload manufacturer material you are not licensed to redistribute.
- Automate the service in a way that degrades it for anybody else.
6. Publishing a case, and the licence it gives us
Publishing is a choice you make case by case, and nothing is published unless you choose it. When you publish one, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, copy, show and index that case so other technicians can search it, with you named as its author.
A published case is a copy, and it survives. If you later close your account or delete the original from your logbook, the published copy remains, because other technicians rely on it and a corpus with holes in it is worth less than no corpus. You can ask us to remove a published case and we will consider it, but we do not promise to.
Before a case is published we remove the things that identify a person or a vehicle — the customer’s name, the vehicle identification number, the repair order number and the mileage are never copied. You are still responsible for not typing somebody’s personal details into the parts that are.
You keep ownership of everything you write. This licence exists only so a published case can be shown to the people it is meant to help.
7. Plans, payment and cancelling
There is a free plan for a single technician and it does not need a card. Paid plans are billed monthly in advance and renew until you cancel. Prices are on the pricing section of our home page; if we change them, we will tell you before your next renewal.
You can cancel at any time and it takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for. We do not refund part-months as a rule, but if something went genuinely wrong, write to us and we will sort it out.
Cancelling never costs you your data. An account that stops paying becomes read-only — you can still open your logbook, search it, and export all of it. We do not hold your records back to make you subscribe again.
8. Availability
We try to keep BayLogic running and we take backups, but this is not a service with a guaranteed uptime commitment, and you should not treat it as the only copy of anything you cannot afford to lose. Export your logbook now and then. We may take the service down for maintenance, and we will avoid working hours where we can.
9. Ending it
You can close your account whenever you like, and doing so deletes your logbook and the files that go with it. Export first — we cannot get it back for you afterwards, beyond the short period a backup exists.
We can suspend or close an account that breaks section 5, that is being used to harm somebody, or where we are required to. Where it is reasonable to warn you first, we will.
10. No warranty, and what we are liable for
BayLogic is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not promise it is free of faults or that it will always be available.
We are not liable for lost profits, lost work, lost data, or indirect or consequential loss. Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim — or, if you are on the free plan, to one hundred US dollars. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect, and we record which version you accepted so it is always clear what you agreed to. Carrying on using BayLogic after a change means you accept the new version.
12. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada, and the courts there are where a dispute would be heard.
